Today the Landmarks Preservation Commission agreed upon the new design for what will be Conservateur Burch's new flagship store for Soho. Currently, the fashion juggernaut's fundamental retail hub is a beautiful property on Madison Avenue at 67th Street. Moving on downtown, the new townhouse/tenement-style flagship will rise only multiple stories on Mercer between W. Houston and Prince streets.
Preservationist Elise Quasebarth, whose firm truly regular at LPC meetings, menti one d the building's design will participate in the variety found around it and then noted that it would have operable wooden shutters. It's actually the second design the LPC has approved for 151 Mercer Street—in November, it approved another five-story proposal that was 10 shop taller. LPC commissioner Michael Goldblum said New York City is a "magical place" where you can suddenly find a party making to build shorter than allowed. (Here at Curbed HQ: Minds. Broken. )

Commissioner Goldblum menti one d the proposal was a "slam soak. " The rest of the commissioners agreed.
The type of proposal, which includes demolition of the latest two-story garage building, was agreed upon unanimously. Earlier reports mentioned another roof garden for the new quadriceps and biceps. Sadly, none was mentioned for Tuesday's presentation, but that doesn't procedure it out.
